LANE STREET BAPTIST CHURCH

We believe that the Bible (1611-KJV) is THE Inspired Word of God. Furthermore, we believe that the Bible is without error, it is infallible, and it will live forever according to the Scriptures. When taken in the proper context, the Holy Bible is the highest authority given to men, and it is the Mind of God.

We believe that Jesus Christ is God in human form and that He lived a life free from all sin. Jesus Christ was perfect in every way and He was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, and is THE Savior of ALL mankind.

We believe that Salvation is a free gift of God given to mankind by the preaching of the Word of God, conviction of the Holy Spirit, repentance of man, and Faith in Jesus Christ. It is unearned and acquired by no action of man.

We believe in the physical imminent return of Christ to reign on David's Throne for 1,000 years immediately after the Tribulation period which follows the catching away of the Church; better known as the Rapture of the Church.

We believe ALL born-again believers should strive to carry the Gospel to Jew and Gentile alike, be admirable in ALL dealings and conduct to ALL people and continue to do the Will of God and glorify Him. We also believe the Church should put missionaries on the field both locally and abroad in order to fulfill the Great Commission for the glory of God and the advancement of the Gospel.

We believe ALL men who are born are conceived in sin and only the Blood of Christ can cleanse that sin.

We believe that ALL born-again believers should unite with a local New Testament Baptist Church and actively support the work of that church as long as it holds the truths of the Word of God in order.

We believe that Christ is the head of the church; that Christ is the Great Shepherd; the Pastor is the under shepherd, and this is the chain of authority within the New Testament Church.

We believe that people who experience Salvation are baptized into the Body of Christ by the Holy Ghost the moment they experience Salvation, and that there is but ONE Baptism of the Holy Ghost, but many fillings.

We believe that water Baptism is NOT a requirement for Salvation, but rather is simply the first official "public announcement" and "first steps" in a person's new walk in life with Jesus Christ. Furthermore, we believe water Baptism is to be performed in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost by complete water submersion as in accordance to Jesus' Baptism; and by doing so that person is identifying with and stating they believe in Christ's death, burial, and resurrection according to the Scriptures.

We believe that "Speaking in Tongues" as is given in the New Testament, WERE languages men spoke that those present might hear in their native language. We further believe that Satan is using the modern tongue movement to help escalate the Ecclesiastical Body that will be the Religion present after the Bride is Raptured.
